E13 arrived on scene to find a 2 story garden style apartment with heavy smoke showing from the attic. LAFD units are in offensive mode. An emergency traffic alert via the radio was issued due to a compromised roof and partial roof collapse. No injuries were reported, Red Cross notified for 8 displaced individuals, LADOT notified, LABS notified, LADWP notified and the Southern California Gas Company notified. The fire originated on the second floor with extension into the attic space. A partial roof collapse occurred prior to firefighters arrival, causing firefighters to proceed with additional caution. LADBS (Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety) is responding to assess the viability of the occupancy. No injuries reported.
