LAFD presence will remain on scene throughout the night continuing to clean up hot spots and work with #LACoFD hand crews to clear areas. This is a "dirty-burn" which means there is still a lot of standing, half-burned fuel susceptible to reburning which must be cleared to keep residents safe. Update Brush Fire; 05:41PM; 4700 N Griffin Av; internal:/; #MontecitoHeights Approx 54 LAFD firefighters (to include 2 LAFD water dropping helicopters) plus 4 hand crews from LACoFD working to access the fire. The fire is slow moving in moderate to heavy brush and location is a distance from the roads, in arduous terrain, requiring firefighters to hike in carrying all equipment. No structures are threatened, no injuries reported. Additional resources may be requested due to the distance and terrain. Acreage estimate anticipated soon.
