Update Structure Fire; INC#0745; 03:21PM; 413 S Witmer St; https://bit.ly/36tV5z2; Westlake; KNOCKDOWN: 38 firefighters extinguished the fire in 16 mins. The building type is updated to a two story, four-plex. The fire was in a unit on the 2nd floor and firefighters stopped it with only minimal extension to the attic. The fire was prevented from extending to the adjoining unit. All evacuees are now being allowed back into their homes. Once all equipment is recovered, LAFD resources will be released. Update Engine Response; INC#0814; 04:45PM; 1498 N Av 57; https://bit.ly/36qkjyh; Highland Park; LAFD Heavy Rescue and Search and Rescue crews secured the truck and then firefighters offloaded the concrete to lighten the truck. They are now working to bring the truck off the edge of the embankment. Approximately 13 homes down below the area were evacuated. The gas was shut down to about three of those homes as a precaution. Heavy Rescue and Search and Rescue units are working to determine how to best mitigate the hazard. The (full) concrete mixer truck remains on the top of the hillside with some sliding noted. Update Knockdown Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#0144; 05:30AM; 1914 S Mateo St; https://bit.ly/3bMpmue; Downtown; An offensive fire attack on stubborn flames deeply seated within a 200' x 200' one story building densely packed with rolled textiles as much as 15 feet high, required the coordinated effort of 112 LAFD personnel, who required 1 hour, 39 minutes to fully extinguish the 'Major Emergency' fire. No injury.
