KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0911; 02:39PM; 744 S Hartford Av; https://bit.ly/3oeINEb; Westlake; *Greater Alarm* Firefighters arrived to find fire had moved through the crawl space, walls, and into the attic inside of a vacant two-story home, adjacent to a multi-story residential apartment building. Several additional task forces responded due to the proximity of the multi-story apartment building, which was ultimately spared. Over 100 firefighters aggressively engaged in a coordinated attack, overcoming forcible entry challenges, to vertically ventilate the structure and extinguish the flames in 35 minutes. No reported injuries. The roof collapse of a portion of the building made it difficult to reach pockets of fire in the defensive posture which caused an extended operation. Heavy equipment is on scene to assist with clearing debris and taking down unsafe walls if required. Firefighters will remain on the incident through the night continuing the overhaul operation and conducting fire watch. No injuries reported.
