Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0669; 10:56AM; 1905 W Wilshire Bl; https://bit.ly/4i9Io1b; Westlake; It took 66 firefighters 50 minutes to knockdown the stubborn fire which began in the basement but continued to spread through the walls to the upper floors. Firefighters placed hose lines on every floor and opened up the walls to ensure completed extinguishment. LAFD Arson units have been requested to investigate the cause of the blaze. No reported injuries. Structure Fire; INC#0868; 12:23PM; 2340 S Fairfax Av; https://bit.ly/4i3MGY2; Mid-City; Large (100' x 200') commercial building with light smoke showing upon arrival (DBA Audi Beverly Hills Service Station). Firefighters initiated an offensive fire attack and located a lithium-ion battery fire. The battery is now on an engine lift, outside the building. There is smoke only, no fire, within the structure and crews are setting up blowers to ventilate the building. LAFD Hazardous Materials Squad is responding, per protocol, to assist with mitigation of the L-ion battery. Per protocol, LAFD Arson will respond for the cause investigation. Identification and cause of death will be handled by LA County Medical Examiner.
