Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0628; 10:21AM; 1912 W 1st St; https://bit.ly/4t0wZG3; San Fernando; Several automobiles on fire beneath two enclosed carports, exposing three surrounding commercial structures. First-arriving companies coordinated fire extinguishment in the carports with forcible entry into the surrounding buildings to check for fire extension - knockdown in 22 minutes. Companies remain on scene for overhaul of the fire damage, with LAFD HazMat attached for at least one hybrid vehicle. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0463; 08:06AM; 8229 N Canoga Av; https://bit.ly/4adYWTm; Canoga Park; One-story, 100' x 150' commercial building, doing business as a nightclub, with moderate smoke showing upon fire department arrival. Firefighters found an outside fire near the electrical panel and quickly extinguished all flames on the exterior of the building. Crews simultaneously forced interior access and employed thermal imaging to assess all interior spaces for fire extension. Knockdown declared in 19 minutes with 45 firefighters on scene. A total of 3 patients (35M serious condition/30M serious but stable condition/15M with minor injuries) are being transported to local hospitals. LADBS (LA Dept. of Building and Safety) are responding to assess damage and stability of the structure. No injuries to LAFD members. Fatality Fire; INC#1540; 07:40PM; 701 S Soto St; https://bit.ly/3LWtBLP; Boyle Heights; LAFD Firefighters arrived quickly to a 1 story single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing. The fire was determined to be an outside fire which exposed one side of the house. It took 37 firefighters 19 minutes to locate and extinguish the fire. Upon primary search, firefighters discovered one person (undetermined age / gender) deceased. No other persons injured. No further details. Fire and specific cause of death under active investigation.
