The exposure to the rear of the structure was defended from any damage. Hiker Rescue; INC#0642; 10:44AM; Fire Rd W; https://bit.ly/402Drit; Shadow Hills; LAFD Air Ops located a mountain biker in a remote location and lowered aeromedics via the hoist. They are currently providing advanced life saving care to the 50yo male patient in severe medical distress, CPR in progress. Burbank Fire Dept is also on scene with a 'gator' (side by side) making their way on the ground as LAFD firefighters continue to hike (and use a 4WD truck) towards the patient. These were two separate occurrences unrelated to one another. LAFD Air Ops is conducting a hoist operation to retrieve and transport one patient in grave condition (age/gender not available at this time). A 45yo male patient is being transported by ground in fair condition. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0209; 04:54AM; 1108 W Santa Cruz St; https://bit.ly/4rUAi0r; San Pedro; Two-story, single-family Craftsman home with heavy fire initially showing -- one neighboring home was also impinged upon, with heavy fire showing shortly after fire department arrival. Firefighters operated at both homes in the offensive mode, coordinating roof and interior operations. A broken gas line was found leaking pressurized gas during suppression operations -- line was shut down and the hazard mitigated. During a search, one dog was located in the primary home, alive and well, and returned to the occupants. Knockdown declared in 32 minutes with 47 firefighters working on scene. No reported injuries. Multiple LAFD companies will remain in the area for overhaul operations, with traffic impacted for an extended amount of time.
