Firefighters reached the patient on foot and are preparing for a hoist operation — an LAFD helicopter will lift and transport patient directly to a local trauma center by air. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#1837; 11:03PM; 316 S Columbia Av; https://bit.ly/3LuBJTd; Westlake; Two-story fourplex with minor fire involvement in one unit, caused by flame impingement from an outside fire on a second-floor balcony. 41 firefighters achieved full extinguishment in 19 minutes with no injuries reported. LADBS requested for structural assessment; companies remain on scene for overhaul of the fire damage. Confined Space Rescue - Now Static; INC#1670; 10:42PM; 1821 N Sichel St; https://bit.ly/49DDMOD; Lincoln Heights; LAFD USAR teams lowered wristlets into the shaft and were able to direct the patient to place them on his wrists. Patient was then lifted and fully extricated from the shaft by rope. Paramedics are transporting the 27M in critical condition to a local trauma center with LAPD escort. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0931; 01:30PM; 923 E 3rd St; https://bit.ly/4r4hbBt; Downtown; Four-story, center-hall-style building (three residential floors over one commercial floor) with smoke initially showing from one fourth-floor unit -- fire knocked down in 23 minutes by first-arriving companies. Firefighters checked for occupants and fire extension in adjacent units, and remain on scene to overhaul fire damage and sweep water from the building. No patients/injuries reported, no cause determined at this time. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0569; 10:02AM; 130 E 60th St; https://bit.ly/4qFScnz; Florence; Two-story apartment in the rear of this property, with smoke showing upon fire department arrival and reports of persons trapped. Firefighters immediately rescued three people from the second floor and then coordinated roof ventilation and interior fire attack on the first and second floors. Knockdown on both floors complete in 14 minutes with 33 firefighters working on scene. Paramedics are assessing the three rescued patients, all reportedly in fair condition.
