The flames were skillfully prevented from extending through walls into a pair of adjoining townhomes . One pet animal (yet undetermined species) was rescued alive from the burning townhome by LAFD responders, and is being medically evaluated/treated at scene by LAFD crews pending the arrival of L.A. Animal Services. No human injuries reported. The fire has involved both living (second and third) floors in the involved unit, with flames through the roof.
