Due to the extent of fire, companies are proceeding defensively, operating from the exterior of the structure. One corner of the home collapsed shortly after LAFD arrival. Protection of at least two nearby structures is being prioritized. Recycling Yard Fire - Now Out; INC#1750; 11:42PM; 8250 N Tujunga Av; https://bit.ly/4e4sPYS; Sun Valley; Large outside fire in a recycling yard, knocked down after one hour and 17 minutes of defensive firefighting that utilized large-diameter hose lines and focused on structure protection. Fire companies remain on scene for extended overhaul operations, with the assistance of heavy machinery to move scrap piles and extinguish all hotspots as material is turned over. LADWP on scene assisting with high voltage lines down. A small contents fire was located and extinguished. No extension into the main occupancy. A patient, approximately 70 year old male, has sustained injuries related to the fire. The patient is being assessed by LAFD paramedics and will be transported to a local hospital. No injuries to LAFD personnel. Cause of fire is unknown. Nothing further.
