Knockdown was declared 23 minutes after 28 firefighters began working on this blaze. No injuries reported. At this time, there are no reported injuries to the occupants of the Metrolink train as firefighters finalize their canvassasing. Crews initiated an offensive operation and achieved a knockdown in 17 mins with no reported injuries. Crews coordinated interior fire attack efforts with rooftop ventilation to extinguish the flames in 30 minutes. Primary and secondary searches are complete and clear. Fire appears to have originated outside the structure and extended inside. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0254; 05:15AM; 14934 W Cobalt St; https://bit.ly/4puKxro; Sylmar; First arriving 35 LAFD personnel took just 12 minutes to extinguish fire within dwelling. 2 immediate patients, a 31M and an approximately 60F, were transported to local trauma/burn center. A 3rd delayed patient, a 32M, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. No injuries reported to firefighters. Structure Fire - Fire Out; INC#0220; 04:18AM; 1230 W Ingraham St; https://bit.ly/3F9EfLB; Westlake; 7 story modern style apartment with smoke and fire in unit 306. Fire was held in check by sprinklers, which enabled 35 firefighters to access, confine and extinguish the blaze in 29 minutes. Fire possibly caused by a lithium ion battery, which is prompting additional safety measures including air monitoring by LAFD HazMat units. LA Building and Safety is responding due to heavy water and fire damage in affected unit. Companies remain on scene for smoke removal, air monitoring, and overhaul of fire damage.
