Structure Fire; INC#0542; 10:14AM; 1326 W Maryland St; internal:/; Westlake; 36 firefighters found a 3-story center-hallway apartment building with smoke showing. Firefighters engaged in an offensive interior fire attack with vertical ventilation to extinguish a fire contained mostly within the walls in 15 minutes. No reported injuries. Update CONTAINED Brush Fire; INC#0065; 12:58AM; 11900 N Browns Canyon Rd; https://bit.ly/38px8tK; Chatsworth; A joint effort by LAFD, LACoFD, and VCFD held the brush fire to approximately two to three acres. A direct air attack combined with containment lines developed by ground crews earned firefighters extinguishment in 43 minutes. No structures threatened. No injuries. Firefighters skillfully extinguished the fire with no damage to nearby structures and no injuries. Crews will remain on scene to "mop up" remaining hot spots within the burn footprint. An LAFD ground and air attack is ongoing with LACoFD hand crews en route. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0878; 03:49PM; 1514 N Labaig Av; https://bit.ly/3gsdRei; Hollywood; A Greater Alarm assignment totaling 49 firefighters battled flames in a vacant (and boarded up) two-story duplex, well-involved with fire on the first and second floors. Firefighters engaged in a transitional attack (upward through the windows from the exterior to cut through the intense heat inside), before entering into an offensive mode to finish off the remaining fire inside in 36 minutes with a coordinated interior fire attack with vertical ventilation. There are no reported injuries. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0761; 02:50PM; 926 S Harvard Blvd; https://bit.ly/31JbM9G; Koreatown; CORRECTED ADDRESS (Multiple Addresses Involved); A total of 78 firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze in 54 minutes, protecting many adjacent structure in the neighborhood. Two homes were damaged and at least two garages behind the homes. One adult male was injured, but refused hospital transport after being evaluated by firefighter-paramedics. One firefighter was injured during a partial roof collapse. That member has been transported in fair condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
