Thankfully the residents were not home and no one was injured. Hiker Rescue; INC#0967; 01:39PM; Elsmere Motorway; https://bit.ly/3BFGMuU; County of #LosAngeles; PRELIM: LAFD ground and air response alongside the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority to a 26-year-old male hiker suffering heat illness on a remote section of the Elsmere Motorway in the western San Gabriel Mountain foothills near the LAFD/LACoFD common border, just west of the Angeles National Forest. An LAFD Rescue Helicopter has lowered a Flight Paramedic to medically assess the hiker, who will soon be hoisted along with the Flight Paramedic into the hovering LAFD helicopter for direct air transport to an area hospital. There are no reported injuries. The Red Cross is providing assistance for their immediate needs. The cause of the fire to the detached garage is believed to be suspicious and LAFD Arson is on scene to investigate.
