KNOCKDOWN Brush Fire; INC#1694; 09:07PM; SB 5 Fwy x 110 Fwy; https://bit.ly/3xzM4a0; #ElysianPark; Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the burning brush, by ground and air, and limited the spread to less than one acre in the steep terrain. Thankfully, there were no injuries and no structures damaged. It took 36 firefighters 48 minutes to extinguish the flames. Hazardous Materials 07/05/2024 INC#1628

Hazardous Materials; INC#1628; 07:41PM; 215 VA; https://bit.ly/4614g95; #Westwood; Firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming from the sidewalk and from a vault. Crews set up a perimeter, asked building nearby building occupants to close doors/windows and shelter in place, and deployed monitoring equipment. Hazardous Materials Specialists determined that the smoke/white vapor cloud coming from underground was a large amount of steam from an underground construction operation and that there was no hazard present and determined the site is safe. Physical Rescue 07/05/2024 INC#1509

Physical Rescue; INC#1509; 06:18PM; 630 E Century Bl; https://bit.ly/4bzUXOq; #GreenMeadows; Firefighters responded to a 3-vehicle traffic collision resulting in a total of 10 injured patients (6 adults and 4 juveniles). Firefighters extricated one of the drivers, who was trapped. All others escaped the vehicles on their own. The adult female driver who was trapped was transported in serious condition. Five other adults were transported in fair condition. Three juveniles were transported in moderate condition. Sadly, the remaining juvenile was a 12-year-old female who died at the scene of the crash (total of 9 transported & 1 deceased). LAPD Inc #4251. Train vs Pedestrian; INC#1360; 05:06PM; 6777 W Hollywood Bl; https://bit.ly/3vJSDRd; #Hollywood; Firefighters and paramedics are on scene at the Hollywood/Highland Metro Station for an incident involving a train and a pedestrian. Rescuers are working to remove the patient from under a train, who sustained serious lower extremity injuries. Commuters can expect delays on the B Line (formerly Red Line), as the track between Universal City and Hollywood/Vine are currently shut down. Structure Fire - Knockdown; INC#0175; 01:21AM; 175 E 49th St; https://bit.ly/45Qtmr2; #SouthPark; Firefighters responded to a one-story single-family home with fire showing. Crews coordinated interior fire attack efforts with rooftop ventilation to extinguish the flames in 45 minutes (2:06am). The cause of the fire was attributed to a medical equipment malfunction. No reported injuries. The structure is unsafe to reoccupy and Building and Safety will be responding with a Red Tag. The family was issued a SAVE card on scene to help them during this time. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#2101; 12:15AM; 8370 N Paso Robles Av; https://bit.ly/3VQPNIb; #Northridge; Firefighters arrived to find large flames burning up into the night sky from a row of Cypress trees, in close proximity to several residential structures. Crews quickly deployed fire hose streams to knock back the flames. Thankfully, the fire was extinguished before any structures became involved. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Tree Fire; INC#1460; 08:43PM; 8309 N Topeka Dr; https://bit.ly/3RTxW22; #Northridge; *Corrected Address* Firefighters stopped at the corner, connected to the hydrant, and drove to the end of the cul-de-sac where a row of Cypress trees was engulfed with flames and dropping embers on several nearby roofs of homes. Firefighters quickly deployed hose streams to extinguish the flames and prevent the nearby homes from becoming involved. Thankfully, no one was injured and no structures were damaged.
