This fire was determined to be entirely within the City of Los Angeles and will be handled by LAFD. Los Angeles County and Ventura County Firefighters as well as all helicopters have been released. No updated acreage figure yet available. No injury. No structure threat. The fire did not impinge upon rail lines in the Santa Susana Pass, and a brief precautionary closure of those tracks has been lifted. Update Fully Contained - #JeffersonFire Major Emergency Brush Fire; INC#1273; 06:30PM; 13600 W Culver Bl; https://bit.ly/3tM1Jh0; PlayaDelRey; 86 LAFD ground and air responders, assisted by LACoFD and Culver City FD ground crews in Automatic Aid, have fully contained the perimeter of the blaze at three and one-half (3.5) acres of vegetation in less than one hour. No injury. No structures damaged. NOTE: One or more lanes of Culver Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard west of Lincoln Boulevard will remain closed until LAFD operations are complete, unknown duration. Motorists should expect ongoing congestion and delay, avoid the area and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. Monitor traffic reports on news radio.
