Structure Fire; INC#0856; 02:45PM; 13742 W Oscar St; https://bit.ly/45f2u2m; Sylmar; Heavy fire engulfing the home and spreading into the attic combined with the high heat in the Valley today resulted in an extended operation to achieve full extinguishment. Firefighter's aggressive actions defending the two adjacent (very closely situated) homes prevented them from sustaining any damage. The fire extension was limited to the shed/garage to the rear of the original fire property. Intense operations under the existing weather conditions took their toll and a total of 19 firefighters were evaluated by the LAFD Advanced Provider unit for heat exhaustion with one firefighter transported in fair (stable) condition. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Incident Commander (LAFD Arson is not attached). No further details. ; FS 91; Batt 12; Valley Bureau; Council District 7; Margaret Stewart
