Structure Fire; INC#0399; 09:44AM; 4820 S Central Av; https://bit.ly/3cJERVa; Central-Alameda; Firefighters responded to a one-story vacant commercial building (previous burn) where a rubbish fire was burning inside. It took 36 firefighters only 13 minutes to extinguish the flames, successfully protecting the structure from further damage. No reported injuries. Update Structure Fire; INC#0131; 09:30PM; 4057 S Main St; https://bit.ly/2X1vZU3; Historic South-Central; Part of this fire building - a 1920s apartment - has collapsed. This will be an extended operation, possibly spanning more than one day, to allow for heavy equipment to remove debris and uncover smoldering materials. Interim housing accommodations are being made for displaced residents (total number currently unknown). No firefighter injuries reported. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0293; 08:14AM; 923 N Beaudry Av; https://bit.ly/2yVcLHQ; Echo Park; It took 50 firefighters 13 minutes to extinguish fire in one vacant bungalow that appeared to have originated in the basement and burned up to the ground level. Firefighters acted quickly to prevent adjacent dwellings from becoming involved. No reported injuries. Update Structure Fire; INC#0131; 06:30AM; 4057 S Main St; https://bit.ly/2X1vZU3; Historic South-Central; Firefighters continue to make slow progress on this stubborn fire. The fire building has been evacuated, and as a precaution, the four adjacent buildings have also been evacuated. The apartment building is showing signs of compromise on one side, and crews have cleared the potential collapse zone. There have been no additional patients reported (besides the first 2 reported - 1 transported, 1 declined). Fire in the basement has been extinguished. Update Structure Fire; INC#0131; 04:52AM; 4057 S Main St; https://bit.ly/2X1vZU3; Historic South-Central; This is now a Major Emergency status incident with 111 firefighters assigned. Firefighters continue to apply water through windows on the fire unit and on the (at least 2) exposed buildings adjacent to the structure. All occupants evacuated from the building with one transported in fair (stable) condition with unknown injuries (age/gender unknown at this time). Update Structure Fire; INC#0131; 04:30AM; 4057 S Main St; https://bit.ly/2X1vZU3; Historic South-Central; Fire appears to have extended to each of the units on the Bravo (south) side of the building. Firefighters deployed hose lines into the windows in every unit as well as into the basement. Despite their continuous efforts, the deep seated fire looks to be extending up through the 2nd floor to the roof. Update Structure Fire; INC#0131; 04:00AM; 4057 S Main St; https://bit.ly/2X1vZU3; Historic South-Central; Firefighters could not make further forward progress in the basement to reach the seat of the fire due to excessive storage conditions. The fire appears to have extended up from the basement into an additional unit on the 1st floor. There are indications of one wall on the 1st floor/basement buckling due to the heavy fire in the basement. Due to the risk of collapse, this is transitioning to a Defensive operation.
