KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1249; 07:11PM; 1727 E 106th St; https://bit.ly/3IQpnRi; Watts; KNOCKDOWN: 32 firefighters extinguished the fire in 20 minutes with no injuries reported. The building is L-shaped with the sanctuary on one side and two story office buildings on the other side. The fire was centered in the sanctuary and extended up into the balcony. The primary and secondary searches were clear. Cause TBD. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1185; 04:21PM; 22250 W Strathern St; https://bit.ly/3IVDUee; Canoga Park; KNOCKDOWN: 34 firefighters extinguished the fire in 24 minutes with no injuries reported. Firefighters encountered excessive storage conditions inside the structure which created challenges reaching the seat of the fire. The fire was mostly towards the rear of the home and extended into the attic. Both occupants were out of the home prior to LAFD arrival and have no medical complaints. Cause and $ loss TBD. Hiker Rescue - FATALITY; INC#0354; 08:42AM; 2698 N Commonwealth Ave; https://bit.ly/3MJ6YqF; Griffith Park; Firefighters located an approximately 50 yo male patient who appears to have been riding a bicycle when he went into severe medical distress. Firefighter/Paramedics provided intensive, advanced life-saving care coordinated with the base hospital. Sadly, he was beyond medical help and was pronounced dead on scene. LAPD Inc #1140 is responding for the investigation (per protocol). "Base Hospital" = one of a limited number of hospitals which is responsible for directing the advanced life support system or limited advanced life support system and prehospital care system assigned to it by the local EMS agency.
