Update Structure Fire; INC#0226; 05:36AM; 522 E 9th St; https://bit.ly/4e45kvn; Downtown; Firefighters have extinguished the bulk of the fire but active fire does remain within the heavy fire load of textiles and furniture in the units. Heavy equipment operators are enroute to move the debris and facilitate access so a final knockdown can be achieved. This will remain an active incident well into the morning and drivers are advised to take one of the numerous alternate routes through Downtown LA. No injuries reported. PIO Captain Erik Scott enroute for media availability (ETA 6AM). This is a Greater Alarm incident with 98 firefighters. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 10/27/2024 INC#0704

Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0704; 11:57AM; 140 S Reno St; https://bit.ly/3YC3kWG; Westlake; KNOCKDOWN: 50 firefighters extinguished the fire in 31 minutes. The fire *appears* to have originated in the 2nd floor hallway and extended to the 3rd floor. There are multiple units involved in the fire (number of displaced residents is unknown at this time). A primary and secondary search of the floors and the exterior of the building are clear with no other reported injuries. One patient being assessed (jumped from 2nd floor) and condition is unknown at this time. LAFD Arson is responding for the cause investigation.
