LAFD is awaiting LADWP for their expertise in investigating the situation. There are no injuries reported and no fire. The duration of the road closures is unknown. There are no known injuries at this time. Firefighters have a protection line in place and are clearing a safety zone of vehicles and pedestrians. Update Structure Fire; INC#0164; 07:33AM; 712 W New Depot St; https://bit.ly/3zfDxd2; Chinatown; Total patient count updated to six: 90yo male transported in critical condition (rescued from 877 N Bunker Hill), two patients assessed and declined LAFD treatment/transport, 1 approx 55yo female transported in fair condition with non-life threatening burn injury, 2 LAFD firefighters - one with a non-life threatening extremity injury taken to occupational health facility and one with probable heat exhaustion is being treated on scene. Displaced occupants: Estimate of 70 residents currently affected while LA Building and Safety evaluates the buildings to determine which units may be occupied. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 09/13/2024 INC#0164

Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0164; 05:21AM; 877 N Bunker Hill Av; https://bit.ly/4gCwKLt; Chinatown; KNOCKDOWN: Over 130 firefighters (Major Emergency status) extinguished fire in both the building of origin and the three story apartment building on the East side in one hour and 36 minutes. There is damage to the three buildings on the south and west side, the extent of which is still being assessed. One patient was transported in critical condition and two additional patients were assessed and declined LAFD transport. The initial count of displaced occupants is 10. The Red Cross is responding to assist with immediate needs. LAFD Arson is on scene to conduct the cause investigation. PIO's Captain Adam VanGerpen and Firefighter David Ortiz are on scene for media requests. Update Structure Fire; INC#0164; 04:19AM; 877 N Bunker Hill Av; https://bit.ly/4gCwKLt; Chinatown; The fire extended into units on both the 1st and 3rd floor of the exposed apartment building. Firefighters are making an offensive attack in the building (defensive against the building under construction) while also searching each floor and evacuating residents. One patient has been transported in critical condition (age/gender unknown). PIO Captain Adam VanGerpen is enroute and will establish a media staging area upon arrival.
