Knockdown Structure Fire 10/03/2019 INC#0831

Knockdown Structure Fire; INC#0831; 02:46PM; 1425 S San Pedro St; http://bit.ly/2OjFJWU; Downtown; Address corrected from 1232 to 1425. It took 123 Los Angeles Firefighters just 52 minutes to fully extinguish heavy fire in what is now described as a 250' x 100' L-shaped Los Angeles Unified School District warehouse facility. Though there was automotive/bus repair taking place on the same property, LAUSD tells us that the only involved building was a warehouse. There was no school at the location or nearby, and no students were involved. No injuries were reported. The fire cause remains under investigation. Monetary loss is still being tabulated. Update Structure Fire; INC#0831; 02:20PM; 1232 S San Pedro St; http://bit.ly/30KWI72; Downtown; Address remains tentative. PRELIM: There are 123 LAFD personnel now assigned to the fire, at an approximately 100' x 150' one story (automotive - possibly school bus depot?) well involved with fire. Eleven minutes into the firefight (2:08 PM), a transition was made to defensive operations. No injury reported. One adult male civilian who sustained minor smoke inhalation, has declined hospital transportation. No other injury reported. There was no fire, illness or injury. All residents are now being allowed to re-enter the building, as one LAFD awaits the arrival of So Cal Gas. Investigation; INC#0454; 10:10AM; 1001 S Olive St; http://bit.ly/353SxXC; Downtown; PRELIM: LAFD investigating an odor of natural gas on the 5th and 6th floors - and possibly outside or near the 186,931 square-foot, 7 story (Oakwood) "Olympic & Olive" residential apartment building (https://oakwoodolympicandolive.com/). There is no fire, illness or injury. Some residents of the 201 unit complex have calmly and safely departed floors 5 and 6. So Cal Gas has a crew en route to assist with the investigation. Remaining visible flames being extinguished. The additional fire companies requested were canceled. Firefighters will remain on scene to continue mop up and ensure no hot spots remain. No injuries reported. Information regarding possible cause is not known at this time.
