Investigation, Arson; INC#0581; 12:05PM; 1200 W Anaheim St; https://bit.ly/2Sjrt4W; Harbor City; A few grass and/or rubbish fires were extinguished by LAFD firefighters this morning in span of approximately an hour (beginning with incident #510 at 11:14am) at or near the Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park. Fire Investigators from LAFD's Arson Counter Terrorism Section were dispatched to the scene and, with assistance from the Park Rangers, a suspect was apprehended less than an hour after the first fire. During questioning, the adult male (who is a person experiencing homelessness) admitted to starting three fires, and has now been arrested and booked for arson. Update Physical Rescue; INC#1472; 10:00PM; 7400 N Van Nuys Bl; https://bit.ly/2STLAXB; Van Nuys; There were a total of 8 patients resulting from a traffic collision with four vehicles (two parked) and one pedestrian. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate several patients. Of the 8 patients, 6 adults were transported to local hospitals (two declined transport). There were 5 in moderate condition, and 1 in fair condition. LAPD Inc # 4295. Now Out Vegetation Fire; INC#1176; 05:01PM; 8625 N Orion Av; https://bit.ly/3d2UB7P; North Hills; Vegetation to the east of the 405 freeway caught fire and threatened homes, catching one or more out buildings on fire. Twenty-eight LAFD firefighters skillfully protected the nearby homes whose properties back up against the freeway. The fire was contained in just over twenty minutes, and the threat has been neutralized. Crews will remain on scene to extinguish hot spots. No reported injuries. Now Out Structure Fire; INC#0853; 01:35PM; 5916 N Monterey Rd; https://bit.ly/3xCdztO; Montecito Heights; The first twenty-six LAFD firefighters arrived to find fire showing from the rear of a one-story L-shaped commercial structure (strip mall). Firefighters isolated the flames to the unit of origin, and extinguished the burning contents in 14 minutes (1:49pm). No reported injuries. Hiker Rescue 06/19/2021 INC#0533

Hiker Rescue; INC#0533; 10:10AM; O'Melveny Park; https://bit.ly/3q97iDp; Granada Hills; LAFD ground and air response to 4 exhausted hikers (Two 30 y/o females and Two 7 y/o girls) on a remote section of Grotto Trail near Top of O'Melveny. With the trail inaccessible by vehicles, and LAFD ground crews still hiking to the location, the LAFD Rescue Helicopter was able to find a safe landing spot nearby, and will transport the four to a nearby safe landing zone not far from their parked vehicle, where they will be further evaluated by LAFD Paramedics.; FS 18; Batt 15; Valley Bureau; Council District 12; BC15 E287 E298 H4 H5 HA4 HA5 RA87 RH214 T87 T98; CH8; 17; Brian Humphrey
