Because it remains important for fire apparatus to have room to quickly respond to a brush fire while allowing residents to simultaneously evacuate, vehicles parked illegally tonight in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZ) during Red Flag Parking Restrictions *will be towed*. Wind was NOT a factor at this fire. Though there were no injuries, more than two dozen families displaced by direct or collateral fire damage, have been referred to the American Red Cross for temporary placement assistance. Red Flag Parking Restrictions; 04:30PM; Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZ); https://bit.ly/RedFlagMap; Due to the forecasted weather conditions, the Red Flag Parking Restriction Program will be activated TOMORROW November 6, 2024, at 8:00AM, for *at least* 24hrs and quite possibly longer. It is important that fire apparatus have room to respond quickly to a fast-moving brush fire while simultaneously allowing residents to evacuate, if necessary. During Red Flag Parking Restriction periods, vehicles illegally parked in posted locations within the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZ) will be towed. The parking restrictions are planned for at least 24 hours and will be reevaluated based on the weather conditions.
