CONTAINED Greater Alarm Brush Fire; INC#1157; 05:50PM; 25000 W Kittridge St; https://bit.ly/3CGAzMI; #WestHills; With 10 mph winds and steep terrain, approximately 100 LAFD firefighters, along with LAFD Crew 3 and LACoFD firefighters, anchored the fire and quickly deployed ground crews to both flanks, before "pinching" around the fire front to stop progress before the uphill homes became damaged. With support from water-dropping aircraft, firefighters extinguished the approximately two-acre brush fire in 79 minutes. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#1024; 04:47PM; 728 S San Pedro St; https://bit.ly/3XkDVOQ; #DowntownLA; Firefighters arrived to the Flower District of Downtown Los Angeles to find heavy fire involving outside storage in the rear, and a two-story mixed-occupancy building, with a row of commercials on the first floor and residential units above that, both occupied at the time. Firefighters immediately called for reinforcements upon seeing the blaze. The Incident Commander divided tasks between crews to take care of interior fire attack, rooftop ventilation, interior search, and evacuation of the occupied buildings. It took 148 firefighters one hour and 35 minutes to extinguish the flames. Thankfully, only one person (28-year-old female) was transported to the hospital in fair condition, and a second (50-year-old male) was evaluated and released (both had symptoms of smoke inhalation). Four commercial units and the respective residential units above them sustained fire damage. Approximately 30 residents will be displaced. Red Cross is responding to assist. No firefighter injuries. LAFD has approximately 148 firefighters on scene, making good progress. Firefighters have ascended ladders to the roof to cut ventilation holes, as crews deploy hose streams below. Firefighters are entering businesses on either side to prevent any further horizontal spread. Crews defended the exposed apartment building from fire extension. There is some minor damage to window coverings. Cause and $ loss TBD. No further details. Only one patient is being transported (age/gender unknown) in fair condition. All others declined LAFD transport. There is no evidence of any spills in the water or on the ground. FULLY CONTAINED Brush Fire; INC#1207; 05:14PM; 3315 E Two Tree Av; https://bit.ly/3pgjh66; Lincoln Heights; FULLY CONTAINED: The first arriving fire companies quickly deployed and conducted a coordinated attack, anchoring and flanking the fire in just 12 minutes. Their actions contained the fire to less than 1 acre. There are no structures damaged and no injuries reported. All additionally requested resources and Air Operations are canceled. The companies on scene will continue with mop up operations to ensure no hot spots remain.
