Update Brush Fire; INC#0738; 02:35PM; 8112 W Ellenbogen St; https://bit.ly/2XgeIHx; Sunland; Firefighters continue to make good progress against the fire with no homes currently threatened. While the forward progress of the fire has been stopped on the Alpha (left) side there is still active fire on the Zulu (right) side. There are no injuries reported and no structures were damaged. One adult male is being detained for questioning. There is NO confirmation, at this time, of this being a suspicious start. This incident remains in Unified Command with Angeles National Forest. Update Brush Fire; INC#0738; 01:55PM; 8112 W Ellenbogen St; https://bit.ly/2XgeIHx; Sunland; The fire size is now approximately 10 acres. It is currently burning against the terrain, meaning the terrain features are slowing the fire progress. However, a shift in the wind could create conditions for faster fire spread. LAFD is in Unified Command with Angeles National Forest. In addition to making a ground and air attack on the fire, structural defense is in place on Rhodesia Ave to ensure no homes are damaged. There are no evacuations currently in place. No injuries reported. LAFD PIO Firefighter David Ortiz is enroute for media availability. Update Brush Fire; INC#0649; 01:10PM; 255 W Box Canyon Rd; https://bit.ly/3fd3j1j; The fire is at approximately 25 acres. It is in mixed rocky, steep terrain which makes ground access challenging. However, firefighters are making good progress and the helicopters are hitting it hard from the sky. This incident is 100% in the County of Ventura but due to the mutual threat to all three counties, it is a Unified Command with Ventura County Fire, Los Angeles County Fire, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MCRA) and LAFD. Ventura County Fire has a PIO enroute for media availability. No injuries reported and no structures damaged. There are no evacuation orders in place. This fire is in the Santa Susana Mutual Threat Zone and all three agencies are currently working together. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1550; 11:30PM; 12140 W Vanowen St; https://bit.ly/3gj2q8T; North Hollywood; It took 26 firefighters just 13 minutes to extinguish the blaze at this one-story home that previously burned. Firefighters contained the damage to the structure of origin, skillfully protecting nearby homes from the heat. No reported injuries. Update NOW OUT Structure Fire; INC#0884; 03:02PM; 4829 W Lemon Grove Av; https://bit.ly/2Pbgvcx; East Hollywood; LAFD responded to a two-story vacant duplex, with a second floor fully-involved with fire. Thirty firefighters took 17 minutes to extinguish the blaze, operating in defensive mode for the majority of the battle. No reported injuries. Update CONTAINED Brush Fire; INC#0622; 02:22PM; 2546 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/39GoAPX; Hollywood Hills West; It took 80 firefighters two hours and 20 minutes to extinguish the approximately three-acre brush fire in the Hollywood Hills. An aggressive ground and air attack by firefighters skillfully protected nearby homes and kept the fire to a relatively small footprint. LAFD Crew 3A and 3B (volunteer hand crew) assisted with the fight and will continue to improve the perimeter and extinguish hot spots within the burn footprint aside LAFD firefighters during "mop up." No reported injuries.
