KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1878; 11:25PM; 5037 W Exposition Bl; #WestAdams; Firefighters encountered a well-fortified unit with smoke showing amongst a row of commercials. Firefighters were able to make entry from the rear, and 39 firefighters extinguished the flames in 24 minutes, without injury. The adjacent units were spared, with help from division walls (fire barriers) within the row of businesses. Firefighters made entry and found fire in one room of the ground level. It took 18 firefighters 16 minutes (5:22) from the time of alarm to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1175; 03:53PM; 220 S Hoover St; #Westlake; Firefighters arrived to find a two-story multi-family residential structure with fire showing. The attic was well-involved with fire, and partial involvement on the second floor. It took 67 firefighters 25 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. No reported injuries.
