Patient safely lowered to the ground with firefighter via rope lowering system established by the firefighters at the top of the hillside. Update Hiker in Distress; 06:08PM; 3200 N Canyon Dr; internal:/; Hollywood (Hills & Northeast); LAFD crews and Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 27 are setting up a lowering system (rope system used to safely lower a firefighter to the patient and then lower both firefighter and patient down to the ground) to reach the patient, approximately 200' down a hillside. Reported as approx 100 gallons of jet fuel on the ground near Gate 131. LAFD Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles on scene ensuring safety. Update Electrical Incident 05/13/2016

Update Electrical Incident; 03:20PM; 6044 N Ventura Canyon Av; internal:/; Van Nuys; Adult male, telecommunications company worker has been brought down from the utility pole and is sadly, beyond medical help. It is officially undetermined if this was an electrical incident versus a medical emergency. Initial indications are the patient suffered a medical emergency causing death but official determination will be made by LA County Coroner. Update Hazmat 05/12/2016

Update Hazmat; 05:10PM; Terminal Island Berth; internal:/; A 40’ container with pallets/drums of a corrosive material has a slow leak. Firefighters set up perimeters to isolate and deny entry to the area. A LAFD Haz-Mat team made entry into the area and took samples of the product and are working to stop the leak, wrap the container and move it to a safe location where a private cleanup company will assist.
