The fire extended from a room in the back of the house up into the attic. While conducting their primary search of the involved room, firefighters located a deceased victim. LAFD Arson is responding for the investigation (protocol). LAFD PIO Captain Cody Weireter is responding for media availability. LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner will be the agency determining cause of death and patient identification. Sadly (adult male) the patient is beyond medical help and determined deceased on scene. LAFD Arson will respond for the investigation per protocol for a fatality.
