KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0814; 12:47PM; 9010 N Cedros Av; https://bit.ly/417aOyM; Panorama City; Firefighters found fire in one unoccupied unit of a two-story garden-style apartment building. Smoke was making its way into adjacent units and forcing residents to shelter on their exterior balconies. Firefighters simultaneously made entry to the fire unit with hose lines, as others ascended ladders to the roof to provide vertical ventilation. It took 43 firefighters 23 minutes to extinguish the flames. Two patients were assessed for minor smoke inhalation by Firefighter-Paramedics. Crews used blowers to mechanically ventilate all affected units and clear the smoke from the building. LAFD has responded with Hazardous Materials and USAR specialists. The leak has now been shut down. Patient care is in progress by Firefighter Paramedics.
