KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1359; 07:11PM; 1933 N Lemoyne St; https://bit.ly/3PuWSfm; #EchoPark; Firefighters found a three-story descending hillside home with heavy fire on the first floor (middle floor is at grade level). Flames climbed to the second floor, as firefighters made entry with water-charged hose lines. Ultimately, it took 34 firefighters 23 minutes to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. Pursuant to LAFD protocol, he has been taken to an area hospital in fair condition for a detailed clinical assessment. No additional injuries have been reported. Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1127; 06:20PM; 5603 W Lexington Av; https://bit.ly/3L7TeWd; #Hollywood; Though LAFD crews actively assisted several occupants in safely exiting the smoke-charged twenty-unit two-story apartment building during the fire, only two civilian adults required LAFD medical assessment for smoke exposure: A 79 year-old female has been taken to an area hospital in fair condition for further medical assessment. The other patient declined offered ambulance transportation. While the fire was confined to the one upstairs apartment, LAFD personnel are systematically assessing the remaining units to assure residents can be safely and comfortably rehoused. The building was not equipped with optional fire sprinklers. Several occupants of the twenty-unit building were actively evacuating on LAFD arrival, and two are being medically evaluated by LAFD Paramedics.
