KNOCKDOWN #EndicottFire Structure Fire; INC#0617; 12:24PM; 2420 N Endicott St; https://bit.ly/2S3QEER; El Sereno; 109 LAFD personnel took 51 minutes to extinguish flames in two structures in close proximity: an L-shaped two-story apartment building, with a one-story "home" nested within the crook of the L. Preliminary reports indicate the fire started in the one-story structure and extended tot he two story building. No injury. Seven residents (unknown age/gender/affiliation) have thus far been displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross has been summoned to assist them. The degree of fire involvement in that one-story residence has yet to be confirmed. Though one male escaped the flames uninjured, a lifeless adult female (his mother?) was discovered by firefighters within the burning premises and determined to be dead at the scene. No other injuries reported. Update - Completed - Animal Rescue; INC#1238; 08:12PM; 14147 W Olive View Dr; https://bit.ly/36bu5Gw; Sylmar; First arriving LAFD responders were able to skillfully use handheld hydraulic prying tools to free the then unconscious horse's leg from the storm drain. The animal is now described as semi-alert, with unspecified leg injury or outlook.
