Outside Fire 03/13/2023 INC#0237

Outside Fire; INC#0237; 06:26AM; 19337 W Ventura Bl; https://bit.ly/3ZK8rCn; Tarzana; Firefighters are applying heavy streams to a large, outside fire (Synthetic Grass Depot) which is not threatening any structures. Due to the depth of the fire within the materials, LAFD Heavy Equipment is responding to assist in moving the pile so the water can effectively reach all pockets of fire. One firefighter is being transported for non-life threatening injury sustained when a civilian vehicle ran over a 4" supply line which knocked the firefighter to the ground. Due to the location of the nearest fire hydrant to an incident, it is sometimes necessary (we avoid it whenever possible) to cross streets with the large diameter supply line. This serves as a reminder to NEVER cross over a fire department hose line. Fortunately this was a minor injury but the potential for life-altering injuries is very real. The 9-1-1 call was received at 4:49AM. Firefighter will remain on scene through the morning working for a knockdown and continuing with the needed overhaul. Commuters are advised to avoid Ventura Blvd between Tampa Ave and Shirley Ave - please seek one of the many alternate routes. No further details.; FS 93; Batt 17; Valley Bureau; Council District 3; BC17 E273 E293 E83 E84 E93 EM15 EM17 HE2 RA93 T73 T93; CH8; 17; Margaret Stewart
