The patient in the rolled vehicle (adult male) was determined dead on scene. The patient from the vehicle on fire (adult male) was already out of the vehicle upon LAFD arrival (mechanism of how that happened is unknown) and is being transported in critical condition. All questions concerning the collision are referred to LAPD Pacific Division (no incident number available). Original 9-1-1 call received at 5:19AM. Update Knockdown Brush Fire; INC#0938; 08:00PM; 8300 W La Tuna Canyon Rd; https://bit.ly/2QUDqYM; Shadow Hills; Thanks to the bold and well coordinated effort of LAFD, LA County FD, Angeles Natl Forest, Glendale FD, and Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority personnel, the fire - which showed an early potential for triple-digit acreage, was held to a final estimate of three acres in rugged terrain, with no civilian injury, no structures damaged, and no need for evacuation. Two LAFD personnel suffered non-life threatening injury during fire attack. One returned to duty after on-scene treatment, while the other was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation. La Tuna Canyon Road has reopened in both directions, and LAFD personnel will remain on scene tonight to assure no flare-ups. Update Brush Fire; INC#0938; 04:10PM; 8300 W La Tuna Canyon Rd; https://bit.ly/2QUDqYM; Shadow Hills; *Forward progress* of the still-active fire on the south side of La Tuna Canyon Road (last estimate ~ 5 acres) has been stopped one hour into the firefight by the well coordinated air and ground response of 80 LAFD Firefighters, joined by L.A. County and Angeles National Forest firefighters responding in automatic aid. The firefight continues with no containment percentage or time estimate yet available. No injury and no structure damage reported. No formal evacuation.
