There are three structures on the property and firefighters contained the fire to the unit of origin. A primary and secondary search were clear with no injuries reported. Update Physical Rescue - Stuck in Tree; INC#0515; 10:53AM; 247 S Alexandria Av; https://bit.ly/3dqBiEy; Koreatown; The patient is now safely out of the tree and being evaluated by firefighter/paramedics. In a closely coordinated operation, two truck companies employed their aerial ladders to secure the patient from both below and above. They ensured he was doubly secured with safety harnesses, cleared any fronds from around him and then transferred his weight to the upper ladder. He is located approximately 40' up from the ground in the tree. The extent of the safety restraints in place on the worker are unknown at this time. Update Structure Fire; INC#0210; 06:09AM; 190 S Virgil Av; https://bit.ly/3cAOQOD; Westlake; KNOCKDOWN: 93 firefighters extinguished the fire in 44 mints. The two-story, single family home (vacant) is structurally instable and all firefighters are outside the structure, continuing to address hot spots in a defensive posture. The exposed four-story apartment building sustained minor heat damage to some of the doors facing the fire but no damage to the building. Firefighters checked each apartment and there are no patients and evacuation is not required. Most resources are being released with one task force remaining on scene to conduct any necessary overhaul. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1416; 10:15PM; 1824 W King Bl; https://bit.ly/3weuYsI; Vermont Square; 46 LAFD firefighters responded to a 1,048 square-foot single-family home built in 1922, with a detached garage to the rear that was engulfed in flames. The fire spread to nearby vegetation. Firefighters divided the tasks and simultaneously extinguished the vegetation and the (defensive) garage fires in 22 minutes, protecting the nearby homes (only minor damage to the exterior of the home). There were no reported injuries. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0795; 02:40PM; 14955 W Saticoy St; https://bit.ly/3u93faK; Van Nuys; 38 LAFD firefighters performed a coordinated attack between vertical rooftop ventilation and interior fire attack to extinguish all flames in just 17 minutes on the top floor of a large apartment building (two occupied floors over parking) built in 1986. Although he got out of the fire unit quickly, one occupant sustained a minor injury and is being treated on scene by firefighter-paramedics.
