Fire began in the kitchen, and all occupants escaped the house prior to fire department arrival; several cats were pulled to safety by firefighters and treated for smoke inhalation. No surrounding homes were affected, no occupant or firefighter injuries reported. All human occupants are out of the house, though there are reports of pets still in the home. Update Multi-Patient Medical; INC#0827; 02:30PM; 5801 W Wilshire Bl; https://bit.ly/3ykQRMi; #MidWilshire; Eight (male and female) teenage students from an unidentified school, were on a field trip to the La Brea Tar Pits , when they were discovered acutely ill by an on-site Security Officer, who called 9-1-1. LAFD Paramedics arrived quickly to determine each had an altered level of consciousness, following their reported ingestion of cannabis edibles. In fair condition, all were taken by ambulance to area hospitals for further medical assessment. Firefighters arrived to find no pedestrian involved, but one vehicle was struck by a train (with 5 passengers in the vehicle and several dozen passengers on the train). Crews are performing medical assessments on the five vehicle occupants, all with only minor injuries (and none currently requesting hospital transport).
