KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0579; 11:28AM; 5911 E Meridian St; https://bit.ly/3vz21a2; Highland Park; Firefighters confined the flames to one unit of a 2,646 sq-ft triplex built in 1955, protecting the adjacent units and keeping fire out of the attic. It took 20 LAFD firefighters just 13 minutes to eliminate the fire hazard inside the residence. Two patients (53-year-old female and 95-year-old male) had evacuated the burning structure prior to fire department arrival. Both had medical complaints, were evaluated by firefighter-paramedics on scene and transported to an area hospital in fair condition. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1027; 05:18PM; 5910 W Ernest Av; https://bit.ly/2TpCTV4; Mid-City; Twenty-eight firefighters skillfully protected the home in front and a nearby structure (on a neighboring property ) from flames (minor smoke involvement, firefighters will use blowers to remove the smoke). Firefighters extinguished the blazing garage in 23 minutes. No reported injuries. Update FATALITY Jumper; INC#0348; 02:00PM; 6801 W Hollywood Bl; https://bit.ly/2Sxiwoq; Hollywood; After over five hours of firefighters, police officers, mental health professionals, and a psychologists attempting to assist the adult male and bring him down from his perch approximately 60 feet above street level, sadly, he jumped and plummeted to his death in an area where LAFD's rescue air cushion was not able to access. LAFD firefighter-paramedics were on scene to render aid, if necessary, but the man was beyond medical help. Train vs Vehicle 05/28/2021 INC#0541

Train vs Vehicle; INC#0541; 11:10AM; 11130 N San Fernando Rd; https://bit.ly/2SFWUpK; Pacoima; A Metrolink passenger train collided with an unoccupied stationary vehicle on the tracks, which appeared to be mechanically disabled. Ten patients who were on the train were evaluated by LAFD firefighter-paramedics for complaints of pain. Seven were transported to area hospitals in fair-to-moderate condition. Three declined transport. The tracks have been shut down temporarily. Firefighters have a rescue air cushion set up. Mental health professionals are en route. LAFD has set up a two line rope system and are ready with harnesses to secure mental health professionals for safety approaching patient to help address an apparent behavioral emergency. Fifty-five Firefighters took just 25 minutes to fully extinguish the fire, confining it to the attic of a 5,406 square-foot, one-story commercial building housing a bank (that was closed, secured and unoccupied at the time of the fire). No injury.
