Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0024; 12:23AM; 4867 W Sunset Bl; https://bit.ly/3z2orkQ; East Hollywood; First arriving 40 LAFD Firefighters took just 23 minutes (12:46 AM) to access, confine and fully extinguish flames held in check by fire sprinklers within one room on the 7th floor of the seven story Kaiser Permanente - Los Angeles Medical Center. Though the fire occurred on a 'patient care' floor, the nature of the room where the fire occurred has yet to be determined. Thanks to the quick and appropriate actions of well-trained medical staff, no patient injuries or illness related to the fire has been reported. Sixty-five LAFD personnel remain at the scene assisting with smoke and water removal. No fire. No illness. No injury. Firefighters have cordoned off the immediate area of the leak pending the arrival of SoCalGas crews (unknown ETA). Knockdown - Structure Fire; INC#1420; 07:17PM; 566 S San Pedro St; https://bit.ly/38WmPPa; Downtown; First arriving 40 LAFD Firefighters took just 14 minutes to access, confine and extinguish fire in one 3rd floor room at The Weingart Center, a 10 story residential high-rise providing transitional services to the homeless. Functional fire sprinklers held flames within the burning unit, as the fire alarm system alerted occupants of the 133,882 square-foot building in time to safely evacuate without injury. No injury reported.
