Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#1522; 07:20PM; 5255 N Bellingham Av; https://bit.ly/3QOXbCv; #ValleyVillage; Thirty-two LAFD firefighters quickly extinguished a kitchen fire in one unit of a three-story garden-style apartment building (bottom floor is parking) in 20 minutes (7:40pm). The fire was contained to the unit of origin, and did not spread to adjacent units. No reported injuries. No injury. No structure damage. No evacuation. LAFD and allied agency ground crews will continue operations this afternoon to complete final extinguishment and create a bare soil perimeter. Knockdown - Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0146; 03:38AM; 11104 W Arminta St; https://bit.ly/4614StB; #SunValley; 106 LAFD Firefighters took just 39 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish heavy fire that extended from the attached garage of a centrally located unit in a row of two-story attached townhomes, to the second floor of that unit and one adjacent unit, with minor radiant heat damage to a nearby four story apartment building. One LAFD Firefighter engaged from the outset in the fierce firefight, experienced exhaustion. Pursuant to protocol, he was taken to an area hospital in good condition for medical clearance. No other injuries reported. The American Red Cross will be assisting four adult residents temporarily displaced by fire damage. Update Train vs. Vehicle; INC#1476; 08:05PM; 5319 S Long Beach Av; https://bit.ly/40oEIjo; #CentralAlameda; The one person briefly trapped in the overturned vehicle was freed by LAFD Firefighters, and has been taken to a regional trauma center in serious condition. The one train passenger with non-specific complaints, was medically evaluated by LAFD Paramedics and has declined ambulance transportation. No other injuries reported. With the temporary closure of both directions of Metro 'A' (Blue) Line light rail service in the vicinity of the incident (between Slauson Station and Vernon Stations) until LAPD operations are complete (unknown duration), Metro will make alternate transportation arrangements for the train operator and approximately 60 passengers aboard the train, who were uninjured. The train is upright and remains on the rails. The vehicle is overturned with one person briefly trapped in the wreckage. One train passenger with non-specific complaints has expressed a desire for medical evaluation by LAFD Paramedics.
