A large industrial structure had a stubborn attic fire deep into the structure. It took 38 firefighters 31 minutes to extinguish the flames, without injury. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0357; 08:24AM; 11976 W Culver Bl; https://bit.ly/3yuVkw1; #DelRey; Forty-two LAFD firefighters, along with Culver City FD, responded to a four-story modern apartment complex, where fire in one third-floor unit was held in check by an automatic fire sprinkler. Firefighters promptly extinguished the remaining flames and shut down the fire sprinkler. Approximately a dozen people were evacuated do to excessive water in the building, which successfully prevented the fire from advancing throughout the residential structure. Crews will remain on scene for an extended period of time to dewater the affected areas. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. Crews developed hose lines from the exterior, in defensive mode, due to the uncertain structural stability of the dilapidated building, which sustained partial collapses at times during the fire fight. Ultimately, it took 66 firefighters 38 minutes to complete extinguishment of the intense flames. No reported injuries. No entrapment. *Eight patients* total. 2 declined hospital transport. Six patients were taken to area hospitals by LAFD Paramedics: Two adults in serious condition, 4 children (ages 6-12) with minor injuries. Though seatbelts were used, some of the children were improperly restrained (No car seats in use, at least two children sharing one seat belt).
