Firefighters located and contained a small 20' x 20' grass fire. All forward progress of the fire is stopped. Firefighters will be conducting mop up operations to address any remaining hot spots. No injuries reported and no structures damaged. Approximately 106 firefighters extinguished the fire within 34 minutes of the 911 call. No. Firefighter injuries were reported. And no patients at this time. No exposures. The Department of Building and safety has been notified in is responding. Arson has been requested. Department of Water and Power and the gas company have also been requested. LA county health Department as also been notified. Cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. Structure Fire; INC#0291; 05:37AM; 2122 S Long Beach Av; https://bit.ly/4yfizEP; Central-Alameda; Long Beach IC declared a knockdown at 0704 hours. Approximately 82 firefighters extinguished the fire within 87 minutes of the initial 911 call. LAFD rehab companies are on scene to assist with refilling of SCBA's and facilitating rehydrating firefighters. Arson will continue with the investigation and fire companies and heavy equipment will continue overhaul operations. [Extended Operation] Structure Fire; INC#0291; 05:37AM; 2122 S Long Beach Av; https://bit.ly/4yfizEP; Central-Alameda; Long Beach IC requesting Arson and The Department of Building and Safety. Initial size up was an Auto fire exposing a one-story 150' x 100' commercial building with smoke in the building. Initially firefighters operated in an offensive mode, but have now moved to a defensive move outside of the building. Fire has extended into the building. Firefighters will continue operations for the rest of the duration of the incident in the defensive mode. The commercial building had a roof collapse and made access to fire in certain areas of the building difficult. During the IC requested two additional Task Force's and the Department of Transportation to shut down Long Beach. The Gas Company, Department of Water and Power and LAPD also requested. LAPD Inc#0996. An exposure next to the fire building had smoke exposure, but no fire.
