No structures threatened. Companies on scene have extinguished the fire and will remain until all hotspots are completely cooled. CHP has closed the off ramp to traffic. Firefighters have handlines encircling the perimeter to prevent the spread of the fire. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0553; 10:19AM; 4960 N Glen Iris Av; https://bit.ly/4h46NmT; Eagle Rock; First arriving LAFD firefighters had reports of a 1 story single family dwelling with light smoke showing. Using standard operating procedures and operating in an offensive mode 32 firefighters were able to extinguish contents fire in 16 minutes. An aggressive fire attack operation with coordination of a well disciplined roof operations prevented extension into the attic and the need for vertical ventilation. Crews remain on scene for overhaul of the contents and structure. No Injuries reports. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0750; 11:27AM; 5282 N Townsend Av; https://bit.ly/4iRadva; Eagle Rock; 45 firefighters worked aggressively to extinguish the fire in 31 minutes. Firefighters were met with excessive storage in the dwelling which hampered entry to the dwelling as well as reaching the room of origin. Preliminary reports stated a possible trapped person inside the structure. Unfortunately, firefighters did find an occupant who had perished and was unable to be revived. No injuries to any additional civilians or LAFD members. Cause under investigation. LAFD Arson and LAPD responding.
