The fire was held in check by sprinklers and the workers used a fire extinguisher. No injuries reported. The original 9-1-1 call was receive at 1:31 PM. Cause and $ loss TBD. A direct air attack combined with containment lines developed by ground crews earned firefighters extinguishment in 43 minutes. No structures threatened. No injuries. Firefighters and Air Ops performed a hoist operation to remove the patient and transported him in critical condition by air ambulance to the nearest trauma center. Update Hiker Rescue; INC#1014; 05:45PM; Simi Hills; https://bit.ly/2yViddq; Chatsworth; LAFD ground crews scrambled down a narrow ~ 200-foot drainage channel in the Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park to access and rescue a 16 year-old male hiker who was stranded on a hillside after sustaining an ankle injury. LAFD ground crews, including Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) specialists used a rope system to bring him to safety.
