UPDATE Structure Fire 06/21/2026 INC#1019

UPDATE Structure Fire; INC#1019; 01:36PM; 1400 S Los Palos St; https://bit.ly/3YE3qNY; Boyle Heights; Update at 1:30 PM on 6/21/26: Throughout the evening and into the morning hours, LAFD firefighters have continued to work tirelessly to gain control of the Palos Incident. Crews have successfully confined the fire to one side of the large building. Overnight, firefighters removed portions of the exterior wall to improve access and allow for more effective water application to areas of the fire that were otherwise inaccessible. The building presents significant safety and operational challenges, including large storage racks that limit firefighters' ability to safely deploy handlines inside the structure. Many of the solar panels have been de-energized, and multiple lithium-ion batteries have been removed from the building, significantly reducing hazards to both firefighters and the surrounding community. LAFD personnel will continue firefighting operations throughout the day, applying large volumes of water to extinguish remaining fire. As a result, the volume and color of smoke visible to the community may fluctuate. ; FS 25; Batt 1; Central Bureau; Council District 14; CH7; 14 18; Jamie Stewart
