A civilian who was performing roof repairs has an injury to their hand and is being evaluated by LAFD paramedics. No injuries reported to LAFD personnel. The cause of the fire is undetermined. The CNG tank is now holding pressure and no longer off gassing or posing any hazards. All local shelter in place notifications have been lifted. No injuries reported. LAFD HazMat units are on scene monitoring the air which is reading safe atmospheric levels. Railroad Car Fire - Now Out; INC#0238; 05:19AM; 599 N Mission Rd; https://bit.ly/4tHjFpP; Lincoln Heights; Units arrived to find a Union Pacific railroad car heading westbound toward Downtown LA with white smoke emanating from the container. The train continued to a secured railyard for fire crews to make entry to the container and begin fire suppression. It took firefighters 1hr 4 minutes to fully extinguish the contents fire within the railcar. The cause of the fire is unknown. They reported that two more hikers, originally with their party, were trapped on a ridge approximately 200 feet up from trail level. Firefighters prioritized exposure protection of a nearby apartment building and a third garage, holding fire spread to minor impingement on the eaves of the residential structure. Knockdown on both garages declared in 21 minutes by first-arriving companies, with no injuries reported. Knockdown in 19 minutes with approximately 55 firefighters working on scene. Extensive searches are being conducted through the vacant building -- no injuries reported at this time. Companies remain on scene for overhaul and have requested LADBS for structural assessment.
