Update KNOCKDOWN Brush Fire; INC#1173; 04:32PM; 2323 N Silver Ridge Av; https://bit.ly/3A79pOA; Silver Lake; KNOCKDOWN: 34 firefighters (Air Ops released prior to being on scene) extinguished both the brush and structure fires in 28 mins with no injuries reported. There were no other structures damaged and the vegetation fire was contained to the immediate area by the structure fire. Firefighters will remain on scene conducting both mop up (brush) and overhaul (structure) operations which will leave the Silver Ridge Way x Silver Ridge Ave area congested with apparatus and residents are recommended to find alternate routing for the next hour (estimated). Firefighters are in the offensive mode initiating fire attack on both the structure and the involved vegetation. Update Structure Fire; INC#0796; 12:51PM; 4037 W Tracy St; https://bit.ly/3bHJaES; Los Feliz; KNOCKDOWN: 28 firefighters extinguished the fire in 19 minutes. The residence has two floors of residential over the garage. Firefighters contained the fire to the 1st floor (garage) which had no auto but a significant amount of stored belongings. Their actions prevented the fire from extending into the floors above. One patient is being evaluated for smoke inhalation and does not appear to need/want ambulance transport. Cause and $ loss TBD. Solo passenger vehicle struck and came to rest well within a 738 square foot two-story home (built 1952), causing structural compromise and erupting in heavy fire prior to LAFD arrival. 59 Firefighters took 65 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure, and rescue one female adult found within the vehicle, who has been taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in critical condition. Traffic - Sheared Hydrant; INC#0949; 02:15PM; 7829 W Melrose Av; https://bit.ly/3PT7x1q; Fairfax; LAFD shut down a sheared hydrant (result of a traffic collision) which is impacted the roof of a commercial building (no structural collapse). There is estimated to be 2' of standing water on the roof of the building and also water within the building (unknown amount/damage at this time). Firefighters are working to dewater the roof and then transition to inside the building. LA Dept of Water and Power are notified. There are no reported injuries from the collision. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0736; 12:36PM; 4724 W Elmwood Av; https://bit.ly/3OQeC1i; Larchmont; KNOCKDOWN: 24 firefighters extinguished the fire in 20 minutes. The building type is updated to a two story four-plex. The fire appeared to originate in an area under the external stairs (illegally enclosed ?) in which there was a male occupant. The fire was prevented from extending into the structure. The male patient is estimated to be 30-40 years old and was transported in serious condition with burn injuries / smoke inhalation.
