Rescue; INC#0474; 09:26AM; 5460 W Hollywood Bl; https://bit.ly/3i9pM7h; #EastHollywood; PRELIM: One adult male, conscious and alert with undetermined injury, was found wedged beneath subway station platform at Hollywood/Western Metro Station, after possibly being struck by (unknown direction) B (Red) Line subway train, which remained at scene. The man was not physically trapped by the train. He has been safely extricated and is being medically evaluated by LAFD responders. His site affiliation and the circumstances of his being at track level have yet to be determined. No other injuries reported. Though the (believed residential) structure has sustained little damage, one or more toppled yet still energized light standards remain a hazard in the area. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0191; 04:40AM; 8900 S Sepulveda Westway; https://bit.ly/3I2ffVQ; Westchester; KNOCKDOWN: Over 80 firefighters battled for just over 90 minutes to extinguish the blaze in the large commercial strip mall. Partial roof collapse and division walls created challenges in reaching the different areas of the fire inaccessible from the exterior, defensive mode. Firefighters were able to work some sections in the offensive mode while other portions remained defensive. There are still some hot spots remaining which crews will continue to address well into the morning. The large number of fire apparatus will impact traffic in the area and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes. No injuries reported. Cause and $ loss TBD.
