The dog does not appear to be injured. Structure Fire - NOW OUT; INC#1546; 08:05PM; 556 N Oxford Av; https://bit.ly/3JeAIdg; East Hollywood; Two story, center hall apartment building had smoke showing from one unit on the first floor. Firefighters initiated an offensive operation and located fire in one unit. 28 firefighters extinguished the fire in 15 minutes with no injuries reported. They are clearing the residual smoke from the hallway but the fire was prevented from extending beyond the unit of origin. Cause and $ loss TBD. The 9-1-1 call was received at 7:50PM. The fire extended (to what degree is being evaluated at this time) to the two adjacent businesses. LAFD resources will be on scene through the morning conducting overhaul operations. Due to the narrow streets and limited access, residents are requested to avoid the area while LAFD apparatus are still on scene. LAFD Air Operations located an approximately 67-year-old female in fair condition, lowered a rescuer to her, and hoisted her into the airship. LAFD transported her by air to a local hospital. Hiker Rescue; INC#0776; 12:58PM; 1598 Bienveneda Ave; #PacificPalisades; Hikers found an adult male unresponsive on the ground on or near a trail. LAFD Emergency Dispatchers provided instructions to multiple bystanders who took turns providing CPR. After Firefighters/Paramedics arrived, they took over resuscitative measures for approximately 20 minutes, but sadly, the man was beyond medical help and declared dead at the scene. Although uninjured, he was isolated by the terrain, unable to ascend or descend from his location. LAFD Air Operations hoisted him from the remote location and brought him to a location where paramedics evaluated him as a precaution. No hospital transport required.
