LAFD ground crews will be joined by LACoFD Hand Crews in completing full extinguishment until at least 10 PM tonight. No injuries reported. No injury. No infra/structure damage. No evacuation. KNOCKDOWN Brush Fire; INC#0898; 02:02PM; 1639 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/44TWAE9; Hollywood Hills West; KNOCKDOWN: Over 90 firefighters extinguished the fire in just under one hour with no injuries reported. The four homes which were threatened were successfully defended thanks to proper brush clearance which provided the defensible space the firefighters needed. Traffic on Laurel Canyon Blvd will remain impacted as the mop up operations continue through the afternoon. Drivers are highly advised to seek alternate routes. Update Brush Fire; INC#0898; 01:28PM; 1639 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/44TWAE9; Hollywood Hills West; There are currently four homes threatened but due to the proper brush clearance in place, they have good defensible space and firefighters are able to get water on the fire while defending the homes. Additional crews are working to gain access to the seat of the fire and deploy progressive hose lays to encircle the fire. There are no evacuation orders in place. No structures damaged. Crews will remain on scene for an extended period of the for "mop up" (cooling hot spots and smoldering debris within the burn footprint). LAFD Air Operations lowered a rescuer to provide care, and prepare for a hoist. The patient was hoisted by Fire 1 and transported to an area hospital in fair condition. Update Structure Fire; INC#0276; 07:15AM; 1265 N Lyman Pl; https://bit.ly/3YdfvY0; #EastHollywood; After extinguishing the flames, firefighters performed another (more thorough) search and found one patient inside the first floor of the structure, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. A second patient (adult female) came forward with a medical emergency, and was transported to a local hospital. One firefighter was transported for non-life-threatening burn injuries.
