KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0244; 06:52AM; 1418 N New Hampshire Av; https://bit.ly/48YNDfr; East Hollywood; KNOCKDOWN: This incident is now classified as a Major Emergency structure fire. Firefighters faced a heavily boarded up entry into and up to the involved area which caused a delay in reaching the seat of the fire. Once crews reached the two involved units in the corner of the building, they were able to conduct an effective fire attack and extinguished the fire with one hour on the incident clock. There are no injuries reported. LAFD PIO Captain Adam VanGerpen is enroute for media availability. LAFD Arson is responding for the investigation per protocol for an incident of this size. Knockdown - Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0255; 05:43AM; 1547 N Sierra Bonita Av; https://bit.ly/46Vd8fS; #Hollywood; 69 LAFD Firefighters took 65 minutes in largely defensive firefighting operations to extinguish fire in a vacant and under construction two-story home with basement that was fully involved on LAFD arrival. The flames were prevented from damaging structures on three sides of the burning building. No injuries have been reported. Fire Department and allied agency operations will continue on site well into the morning, as Fire Department heavy equipment (e.g. bulldozer, excavator) is brought in to lift and move the massive amount of still smoldering debris.
