Hiker Rescue; INC#1054; 03:37PM; Santa Monica Mountains; https://bit.ly/3WabGUf; #PacificPalisades; PRELIM: LAFD ground and air response to a 66-year-old female hiker suffering from exhaustion on the Bienveneda Trail north of Leacock Trail near Topanga State Park. An LAFD Rescue Helicopter has lowered a Flight Paramedic to medically assess and stabilize the patient, whose condition is undetermined. KNOCKDOWN Brush Fire; INC#1694; 09:07PM; SB 5 Fwy x 110 Fwy; https://bit.ly/3xzM4a0; #ElysianPark; Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the burning brush, by ground and air, and limited the spread to less than one acre in the steep terrain. Thankfully, there were no injuries and no structures damaged. It took 36 firefighters 48 minutes to extinguish the flames. Crews set up a perimeter, asked building nearby building occupants to close doors/windows and shelter in place, and deployed monitoring equipment. Hazardous Materials Specialists determined that the smoke/white vapor cloud coming from underground was a large amount of steam from an underground construction operation and that there was no hazard present and determined the site is safe. Train vs Pedestrian; INC#1360; 05:06PM; 6777 W Hollywood Bl; https://bit.ly/3vJSDRd; #Hollywood; Firefighters and paramedics are on scene at the Hollywood/Highland Metro Station for an incident involving a train and a pedestrian. Rescuers are working to remove the patient from under a train, who sustained serious lower extremity injuries. Commuters can expect delays on the B Line (formerly Red Line), as the track between Universal City and Hollywood/Vine are currently shut down. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0374; 06:59AM; 8100 W Sunset Bl; https://bit.ly/4eJ4R3e; #HollywoodHillsWest; First-arriving companies reported a one-story single family dwelling with fire showing from the front. Firefighters proceeded in offensive mode -- breaching entrances to fight fire and search for victims, and ascending to the roof to ventilate pressurized smoke and heat. Full extinguishment accomplished in 35 minutes with 37 firefighters on-scene. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0349; 07:02AM; 6920 W Sunset Bl; https://bit.ly/4bz3u4x; #Hollywood; It took 45 firefighters 29 minutes to knockdown flames in this vacant building. One 35-year-old female patient was transported to a local hospital with burn injuries. LAFD heavy equipment operators, along with Building and Safety, will be on-scene to evaluate the building (the site of multiple previous burns) for demolition due to safety concerns. Sunset Boulevard is closed between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive.
